Bloggers choice

African Americans are employed at 40% the rate of european Americans in the managerial and professional fields, but they are employed twice as much for service positions such house keepers and grounds keepers. This is an aweful fact because it shows how African Americans have a much harder time reaching the managerial positions in this country. On the other hand is quite easy for them to get jobs in service. There is nothing wrong with working in the field of service but obviously people want to better themselves and move up in thier field. For people of color it much more difficult to move up into manager positions in any field, whether it be in service or any other position. The number of african americans compared to european americans is greatly different. Racism does not belong in the work place but sadly it still is. It is just one of those things that may never go completely away due to the past. People always say that we need to move on and forget the past but it is easier said then done. Things are changing everyday, more and more african americans are moving up into managerial positions and some day the statistics will show that they are equal to that of the european americans.
